Style of Worship
St Luke’s is a church whose life and worship is based on the sacraments and yet which seeks to reach out to the community. It is a church which values tradition and whose liturgy, worship and music seek to provide the best that we can offer to the glory of God but is flexible enough to embrace the newcomer and those on the edge of faith.
Children meet in St Luke’s Hall at 10.15am on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sundays in term time and join the regular congregation later in the service, receiving a blessing at the altar rail during the Communion. There is a dedicated area at the back of the church with resources for young children. Toys are provided for toddlers and babies in the nearby Parish Room.
Morning Prayer is said in Church on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 9:00am. Celebrating Common Prayer is used and everyone is welcome.
Every Thursday at 11.00am there is a said Eucharist (BCP) followed by refreshments in the Parish room.
